Plumbing Supplies — How to Choose the Right One?

Water is very important to our survival because we need it in just about every aspect of our lives; we need to drink a good amount of water and we use it in cooking food. Not only is water important for survival, we also need it with miscellaneous things like when you maintain an aquarium in order to appreciate nature’s art. The benefits of water is just endless and although we can enjoy it without complicating things, a good plumbing system adds to the convenience of its use. A good plumbing system locks the flow of water and divert it in more controllable and useful ways. The problem is, from time to time, plumbing systems do break down and water just flows from the bathroom unguided like a river, turning our homes into swimming pools. Other times, you can have no water at all probably due to an air lock in the pluming system. In order to make your water system convenient to use, you need the right plumbing supplies. Here are a few things to put into consideration:

  1. Consult a professional plumber
If you don’t want to waste your time and money on plumbing supplies, consider the input of professional builders or plumbers like Sandy Plumbing, Nolan Plumbing and South West Plumbers for those living in the Seattle area. Consulting a professional plumber will really enlighten you on the things that you need and will give you the confidence that as you walk into the stores like Universal Supply Co.in Houston, TX, Wallington Plumbing and Heating Supply or Weinstein Supply, you know what you are looking for. Shopping in these stores can be daunting especially when you are on your own
  2. Consider what you need
This line of work is so exacting, in fact plumbing is not just about flexible PVC pipes and fittings, there are a lot of miscellaneous things that you need like toilet and sink and if you don’t know what fits with what, you could end up buying the wrong things. Tell your plumber what you want done and get a detailed list of the items that you need to be buy before braving your way to Weinsteins or Freeport Plumbing Supply.
  3. Try to save money as much as possible
As with any merchandise in the market, plumbing supplies have a lot of branded products like Delta faucet and Kohler which are expensive and alternatives that are cheaper. Depending on your budget, you can always choose the cheaper ones in order to save money. It isn’t always true that cheaper alternatives are lousy because experience has shown that there are less expensive products that you can buy which still last a long time before they get replaced.

These are some of the things that you have to consider when choosing plumbing supplies. Remember, in order for this to be done right, it needs your active participation and having these things in mind is like having a plumb line to guide you. For a good collection of products, try to visit Peabody Supply North Chelmsford, MA if you are in the area.

Plumbing Supplies Online–Where to Buy from the Comfort of Your Room

The Internet has revolutionized our way of life in many ways including the way we shop. If you need plumbing supplies and are not willing to go to a physical store, you can still shop online from stores like Aaron & Company, Pacific Plumbing, Crane Plumbing and Hughes Supply and still get the same results. There are things that you have to consider though because this way of shopping is still in its infancy and things can always go wrong to your own detriment. Here are the things that you need to keep in mind when shopping online for plumbing supplies:

  1. Use Google to search for products
As the adage go, Google is your friend. You can go to Google Product Search and search the item that you want on the search box and what will be returned will be the product, its price and the stores that sell it. You can even compare prices from different stores like Meyer Plumbing Supply and Keller Supply Company easily because Google has prepared a price comparison for you. Added to that, you will also get an idea if the product is good because customer ratings are also provided. Meyers prices are a bit cheaper though.
  2. Read product reviews
Before deciding on a product, make sure that you have read pertinent reviews. These are important because what you are doing is drawing from previous user experience and gaining insight from it. After reading enough materials, you can then decide which one suits your needs. So far, these stores have excellent ratings from customers; Moore Supply Co, HD Supply, Morrison Supply Co and National Plumbing.
  3. Know the store’s reputations
Aside from reading product reviews, you also need to know the reputations of the stores that you are interested in buying from. The best place to go to is the local BBB website and try to find if there are major complaints filed against a given company like Aarons, Blackman or Josco Plumbing Supply in Austin, Texas. If a lot of complaints had been filed against a company, then you would be better off staying away from it.
  4. Know the store’s return policy
Shopping for plumbing supplies online can be so convenient. Even if you are living in Greensboro NC, Oklahoma, Cleveland, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh PA, Portland Oregon, St Louis Missouri, Minneapolis–Saint Paul MN, Fairfield CT or even as far as Hawaii, you can still get all the plumbing supply that you want over the Internet. The problem is, if the item is defective, you must have a way of having it replaced and that is why an online store must have a good return policy. So far, Wool Plumbing Supply Florida and RF Fagers, PA are unsurpassed in terms of excellence in their return policy.

As long as you know what you are doing, your money will still be pretty safe and you can always get good value for it because items sold online are usually cheaper compared to those that are sold at physical stores. 1. Hey Abel thanks for finding us and thanks for the question. I can’t help but to think your comment is slightly self serving being that you have an on-line store :) Be that as it may I’ll answer to the best of my abilities from both a consumer perspective and a professional plumber perspective. When buying faucets and trim on-line you have to ask yourself “who am I going to have install the material?” If you’re going to install yourself then I don’t think there is any inherent drawbacks other than the fact that if you buy local you can take it back locally in case of product defects. Most of the bigger on-line plumbing supply stores have great customer service. Now if you plan on having a plumbing professional install you can have some real issues. First of all not all plumbing contractors will install owner furnished product. Why you ask? If an owner supplied toilet or faucet or tankless water heater malfunctions after a plumbing professional installs there is almost always a fight on who should guaranty the product. Even if that aforementioned plumbing contractor makes the home or business owner aware that they won’t warranty the product, it ends up being a head ache. From the contractors perspective why should they guaranty a product they’ve made no profit on, it makes no business sense and that’s why many refuse to even install.

      Sincerely,
      admin@theplumbinginfo.com
